Time Flies

My weeks being at home are dwindling. :( I go back to work the first week of December. However, I do feel so lucky that I have never had to use day care. We have always made two jobs work in a way that keeps are kids at home. I work nights so they don't have to come home to an empty house after school or be in day care all day long. I love being home with the kids except for the redundancy of cleaning every one's mess over and over again! I feel like I do have the best of both worlds. I am a mom all week long during the day and a nurse 2-3 days a week at night.
This week I am so excited that the premire of Twilight is coming out. I know how old I am but I'm seriously addicted! I've been able to get closer to Celeste through this book. So I am taking her to the movie Thursday at midnight.
Addison is still such a great baby! She is so happy all the time. Very smily. Sleeps awesome. 9 weeks old now. Can't believe how fast time flies!

Jonathon's birthday!

We have been so caught up in the new baby, I didn't post about Jonathon's birthday! He turned 4 exactly one week after she was born. Good thing he's only 4. We just had dinner and cake here with our family, but he seemed to enjoy it.

Jon seems to like Addison the best so far he loves to kiss her and hold her. It's funny I thought he would be the most unattentive.

Clayton looks at her every now and then, but not too interested in her yet. I was nursing her one day and Clayton asked what I was doing and I told him I was feeding her. He looked shocked and said, "That's how she eats??" I said, "Yes, that's how all of you ate." He walked away mortified and mumbled "My mouth feels disgusting!" It still makes me laugh!

Celeste holds her mostly when she's asleep. She seems to be warming up to her slowly. The kids have been on fall break for a week and still have a week and a half left, so they are bored. They don't understand why we can't be zooming all over to entertain them! No one entertained me when I was a kid! We played outside all day until dinner time! What happened to those days?

Thanks again to my great friend Megan who came over to get some great shots of Addison. Although this particular shot made me cringe... afraid my baby was going to fall off this very small ledge in our house, it turned out adorable!!

Addison Grace

It's a girl! After waiting nine months, she's finally here! Russ and I left for the hospital at 2:30 am on Friday morning. (I had called my mom to watch the kids, and take them to school.) When we arrived to the hospital, I had to go through 12+ hours of labor, and she was still clinging tight to my ribs so we had to do a C-section. She was born on September 12 and weighs 8 lbs 13 oz. I was supposed to stay at the hospital for four days, but they let me out early on the third day. I'm still pretty sore, but I'm happy to be back home. Addison is beautiful, and reminds me of all three kids. At last, my family is completed with two boys and two girls!

Still no baby!

I'm sure you are all wondering if I have a new little one yet... but sadly I am still fat, pregnant, and feel like a ticking time bomb, or a watched pot. All three of my other babies came on their due date. So, I was slightly stunned when yesterday came and went and not a cramp, wince, or any sign of baby #4. I went to the doc today he said we would induce on Monday at 4:30 am if nothing happens before then. I have to say I am loosing confidence in my ability to have this baby on my own. You would think after 4 it would be falling out of me. This one seems to have it's own agenda and is not ready to be cut loose from the cord. Please send pain my way with voodoo dolls, or prayer, or witchcraft... whatever it takes to get this baby out!

We had some pictures taken a couple of weeks ago by a good friend. Thought we would share them. Otherwise, school has started and we are busy getting everyone where they need to be. Can't wait to have this baby, maybe then I can take a deep breath and get some time off!

Fourth in Flag

So this week was another busy week. We celebrated my 30th birthday! ( Not that anyone needs to know that.) We went to Flag for the fourth of July. We barely remembered yesterday was our 13 year anniversary! Lots of good friends showed up in Flag, so our days were packed with going from place to place. We managed to squeeze in some downtown bummin' ( found an amazing little creperie, you'll have to try it), the horse races, and even Sedona!

Summer Vacations

We've been so busy, it's hard to update. The kids are on a modified year round school schedule so they don't have a lot of time off, so we are trying to cram in a lot of stuff in a short amount of time. We spent 4 days in San Diego with my Dad and Maggy. The kids had a blast. Mostly just sitting by the beach, eating, sitting by the beach some more and of course eating! Our days revolved around what time of day it was so what food would be next!

I've been researching some wive's tales about how to know if you are having a boy or girl. Just wanted to see if anyone out there knew what they were having based on certain "symptoms". Let me know! :)

update

The kids are out of school for summer. I can't tell you how much I miss sleeping in. I will continue to take full advantage of it before the baby comes.
Celeste is in tennis for the summer. So far, it's been fun. But I think she needs some glasses. She has them but refuses to be seen in them. I might try to see if she is ready for contacts. Her first practice she hit her own ball right into her eye! I couldn' t help but laugh out loud. She also takes a baysitting class this week, maybe she'll learn how to be less bossy with the boys. She loves to be "in charge". She will be starting Jr. High in July, she's very excited!
Clayton just finished up his baseball season. They had a tournament and just crushed every team. The last game they lost by one point. The boys were so bummed. I can't believe how competitive and stressful it can be at 8! Scares me to think what will happen when he's 15 or so. Funny story... Russ rented Indiana Jones with them, so thought that would be a great time to learn more about the 10 commandments! When I got home from work the next morning Clayton was so excited to be telling me what he had learned. My favorite commandment he remembered was, Thou shall not love thy neighbor's wife!! I couldn't stop laughing.
Jonathon is a busy boy. Finished up his first year of preschool and can't wait to go again. He keeps asking me why I won't take him to school today. He just doesn't get the whole summer break thing. It's still nice enough in the evenings to take the kids to the park and get some of their energy out before bedtime. Soon it will be too hot to do much of anything! We will be going to San Diego at the end of June, and Flag at the beginning of July, so it will give us a much needed time away from this heat!
Russ and I are struggling to think of some names. Boy, are they different. If he had it his way he thinks it is a boy so he wants to name the poor kid after a baseball stadium. I hope we start to narrow it down soon! Although, let's be honest... I'm having this baby so in the end I am pretty sure it will be up to me! Any suggestions for good names would be greatly appreciated. I'll post pictures soon!

Today was our 20 week ultrasound. I can't believe I'm halfway done. I didn't want to find out the sex of the baby. I really wanted to be surprised. We have one of each so at this point it doesn't really matter. I didn't know if I would be strong enough but I was. So I have 19 weeks and 4 days left to wonder. Picking out names, and an outfit to bring the baby home will be so much fun! The pictures are pretty blurry. Our baby was kicking the entire time. It's amazing how much ultrasounds change every four years. I don't remember being able to see the baby actually kicking and waving their arms around. Either that or this kid is already ADHD.
So the top one the baby is in the "bucket position" so the face was very hard to see. Then you have just a foot. And the last one is the face which didn't turn out all that well. But, those are definately Russ's lips!!

Getting too old for this

Celeste had to watch a show tonight about crystal meth called, "Crystal Darkness". WOW!! It really opened my eyes to the problems our kids are facing. It's so scary to know that you can't chain your children to you. Once they leave to school, or a friends house, you have to trust them and hope that the morals and values that you have tried to drill in their head stays with them. Just that one hit, could get them hooked and change their life forever. You hope that your child is the strong one, the one who will not give in to peer pressure, the one who will abide by the rules you have set forth for them. The show discussed to parents that it's not about what race you are, where you live, how much money you have or don't have, or if your kids go to church with you every Sunday. It's out there, it's easy to obtain and gets you hooked immediately.

Truth is though... with four kids one of them is bound to mess up. Maybe I should have 20 kids then I have a good chance of one of my children surviving in this scary world. J/K. Anyway, I am realizing how old my kids are getting, and what they will soon be facing. Most of the people on the show who got hooked were 14!!! Celeste is 12. Eye opening!

So I got an email this weekend that said I didn't update often enough. so in case anyone is wondering what's going on in the extremely boring life of the Kimberlin's, here you go..

Russ is on the two week countdown of tax season being over! Thank goodness! To those of you who have not gotten your tax stuff in to your own C.P.A, ask for an extension. give your neighborhood accountant a break (or have some love for their wife) I can't wait to have my husband back. I already have a date night planned to wisk him away for the evening, even though it is slightly selfishly induced. When he is busy and has no time either do I. I need a break from cleaning, and yelling, and homework, and three year old tantrums, and SASSY 12 year olds.

Celeste got braces two weeks ago, and the ache of them is finally over. Although, all her favorite things are gone. Popcorn, chewy candy, apples... especially carmel ones! She has a DARE graduation coming up on Thursday, and her Hip-Hop recital in May.

Clayton is finally done with football. Thank goodness!! It was an ugly season. Now on to baseball. He has been playing with the same team for four seasons now, and not just being his mother the whole team is pretty awesome. They won the city championship last season and they are ready for it again this year!

Jonathon has become Jeckel and Hyde lately. Help!! I have never had the terrible tantrums from either of the two others. One minute he is fantastic and the next minute he is screaming and throwing things!! He is so cute and I absolutely adore him but he is on my last nerve!!

Me, well I am fat and have the skin of a 13 year old, I'm not talking about the peaches and cream skin. I have tried to think of some names for the baby with the help of the kids and Russ and it's not going so well!! If anyone has any great names that they don't want to give to their first born let me know.

Forgot to post about Clayton's birthday. We invited just a couple of boys to Amazing Jakes. I forget how loud boys can be when they get together inside.

Keep 'em busy

Kids are finally on Spring break for the next two weeks. I love it when they are home, mainly because I love to sleep in! The biggest problem with having them home is that they love to fight. So I am doing my best to keep them occupied no matter how exhausted I am.
Clayton has been playing baseball with the same group of about 6 boys for quite a few seasons now, we get along with all the families really well. The best part is there is a friend for every child of mine. There are about 4 10-12 year old girls, 6 7-8 year old boys, and 3 3 year olds. So today, we had a day at the park in the beautiful 78 degree weather.

I tried to get a better picture of Clayton but he was too busy playing basketball. This is a close as he would get for me to take a pic.

I would love ideas...what do you like to do when your kids are home on break? To keep your sanity as well as theirs?
